Research interests
Yohanes is an early-career pharmacist and pharmacoepidemiology researcher whose work focuses on improving medication use and health outcomes among older people using real-world data. Yohanes completed his PhD at the University of South Australia in 2025. His Doctoral research examined the use of diabetes medicines among older people living in aged care homes using linked health and aged care data from the Registry of Senior Australians (ROSA). Yohanes holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Gondar University and Master of Pharmacy Practice from Addis Ababa University. He has previously worked in academic and research roles in higher education institutions, including serving as Head of School of Pharmacy at Haramaya University.
