Tingan Li

Tingan Li studies how physical processes shape Earth's surface from mountains to rivers, using a combination of mechanistic models, flume experiments, and field observations. Current research includes sediment production and morphology of hillslopes, morphodyanmcis of bedrock and alluvial rivers, and subglacial hydrology. Tingan Li is recruiting a fully funded PhD student to work on the experimental exploration of subglacial hydrologic channelization and till evolution under overburden stress. The project will involve designing and conducting flume experiments, developing numerical models, and potentially carrying out fieldwork to explore the coupled processes of water flow, sediment transport, and erosion beneath glacier-like conditions.
