Research interests
Synthetic inorganic and organometallic chemistry of the main group, transition metal, and rare earth elements. We put emphasis on mechanochemical synthesis (solvent-free grinding or milling) to generate otherwise unavailable or base-free compounds for both stoichiometric and catalytic reactions.
We are also involved in ligand design, including the use of steric and dispersion effects and cation-π interactions, to control the structure and reactivity of main-group and transition metal organometallic and coordination complexes.
Computational investigations (primarily with density functional theory methods) of bonding, structure, and dispersion effects in inorganic/organometallic systems play a substantial role in our investigations.
