Associate Professor Stuart Bade MBBS FRACS is Chief of Surgery, Division of Surgery and Perioperative Services, for Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service at the Queensland Children's Hospital. After completing his Plastic Surgery training he undertook two further years of subspecialty training in paediatric plastic surgery at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne and the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada. He has previously been Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital as well as the Queensland Children's Hospital. He is currently President of the Australasian Cleft Lip and Palate Association and Co-Chair of the Queenland Surgical Services Clinical Network. He actively supports global health initiatives and is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee for Operation Smile Australia. Associate Professor Bade's research activities revolve around his areas of clinical expertise in cleft lip and palate surgery, ear reconstruction and paediatric plastic surgery as well as oversight for the research activities of the broader Division of Surgery at the Queensland Children's Hospital through his role as Chief of Surgery. He has a keen interest in education and training having been Deputy Chair of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons ASSET (Australian and New Zealand Surgical Skills Education and Training) Committee as well as being a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons Curriculum Review Project.
