Research interests

I'm a cognitive neuroscientist working to understand the neurobiology of language and use that knowledge to improve outcomes for people with aphasia. I lead the Language Neuroscience Laboratory, where our research spans three themes: 1. the neuroanatomy of the language network—how language is represented in the brain and localised in individuals 2. functional reorganisation in neurological patients, especially recovery from aphasia after stroke 3. developing aphasia assessments that are practical in fast-paced healthcare settings, ecologically valid, psychometrically sound, multilingual, and free.
