Research interests
Dr Kim's research focuses on public international law, with particular emphasis on the law of the sea, international environmental law, third-world approaches to international law and international relations. Her works are published in the International and Comparative Law Quarterly, Max Planck Yearbook of United Nations Law, Journal of the History of International Law, Legal Studies, International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics and so forth. Dr Kim has also advised states on a range of international legal issues, including territorial and maritime disputes, climate change, the law of treaties, and the law of the sea. Dr Kim read for a PhD in Law at the University of Cambridge, where her thesis focused on Marine Protected Areas and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. She received her LLM from the University of Edinburgh and holds BA and MA degrees in Political Science and International Studies from Yonsei University in South Korea.
