Research interests
My research investigates semiconductor micro- and nano-electromechanical systems (N/MEMS) for frequency control, physical sensing, spectral processing, and computing—pushing the frontiers of performance, power efficiency, and reliability. We explore the full stack: from the physics of electronic effects in semiconductors to wave propagation in ferroic-on-semiconductor heterostructures, to the nanofabrication of novel device architectures and heterogeneous microsystem integration. Our work enables technologies such as ultra-accurate chip-scale time-keeping, nonlinear frequency stabilization and transfer, microscale heat engines and coolers, and sensors and computers that operate in extreme environments—where conventional electronics break down. Applications span next-generation timing and inertial systems, scalable RF and spectral processors, and resilient microsystems for space, energy, and defense platforms.
