Research interests
<p><strong>The Dillingham Laboratory</strong> is studying mechanistic aspects of DNA:protein interactions which underpin DNA replication, repair, recombination and segregation. At the moment we are especially interested in:</p>
<p>(1) DNA helicases as modular components of molecular machines</p>
<p>(2) The initiation of double-stranded DNA break repair and how it can be modulated for medical and biotech applications</p>
<p>(3) The role of helicases in suppressing replication:transcription conflicts</p>
<p>(4) The mechanism of chromosome individualisation and segregation by ParB and SMC complexes</p>
<p>(5) DNA mimic proteins and their potential applications in medicine and biotechnology</p>
