Research interests
Our laboratory focuses on understanding the fundamental mechanisms responsible for molecular pathogenesis of cancer, aging, and metabolic disorder. In particular, we are interested in identifying novel regulatory mechanisms of PTEN and its intersection pathway by a direct genetic approach in the mouse as well as biochemical approaches. Ultimately, theses studies will greatly advance our knowledge of cancer pathogenesis, be translated into clinical care, and offer exciting therapeutic opportunities. A tutorial experience in our laboratory would provide an opportunity to study signaling, cancer genetics, metabolism and aging through employing in vitro approaches including cell culture, microarray, real-time PCR and biochemical assays, in vivo mouse modeling with conditional transgene or targeted gene and systemic glucose and lipid metabolism analysis.
