She has also been appointed as an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, has periodically guest lectured, and has been appointed as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand. Dr Strydom's research interests encompass a range of aspects related to natural resources and environmental law. Her experience and interest in compliance and enforcement led to PhD research considering criminal sanctions for environmental law transgressions.
