Lyn Gum

Dr Lyn Gum worked as a clinical nurse and midwife for over 30 years, including 14 years as a rural nurse/midwife. Her PhD (Flinders University, 2017) explored interprofessional education and collaborative practice in rural settings in South Australia. Lyn's academic teaching interests have spanned across postgraduate Masters degrees and undergraduate degree teaching in the fields of clinical education, medical, midwifery and nursing education. Lyn is currently Program Director Postgraduate Midwifery and advocates for supportive learning environments that are engaging and respectful to all students. Lyn's current scholarly interests include interprofessional learning, online learning, professional use of social media, generative artificial intelligence, rural workforce/health care, simulation learning and debriefing, communities of practice, collaborative practice and teamwork, patient safety and qualitative research.
