Linlin Fan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a position she joined in 2024, and an Investigator at the Picower Institute for Learning and Memory. She leads the Fan Lab at MIT and was named the Samuel A. Goldblith Career Development Professor of Applied Biology in 2025. Her research interests include neural circuit computations underlying higher cognitive functions, with a focus on the all-optical interrogation of serotonergic regulation of learning rules.
