Research interests

Psychoacoustics, sensory processes. Our current research is aimed at gaining a broader understanding of the manner in which information at the two ears is utilized in order to detect and localize sound (binaural information processing). In an effort to determine the extent to which different aspects of the physical waveform are used by the binaural system, modern methods of digital and analog signal processing are employed to control precisely the physical characteristics of the signals presented to each ear. Data are obtained from human listeners in a variety of psychophysical experiments.
