Research interests
I am a senior cancer researcher specialising in molecular biomarker discovery, liquid biopsy and extracellular vesicles, transcriptomics, chemo-/radio-resistance, radiation biology, cancer stem cells and imaging in prostate, breast and bladder cancers. I am currently leading the translational uro-oncology research program in Radiation Oncology at Cancer Services St George Hospital and a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in School of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health, based on St George and Sutherland Clinical Campuses. To date, I have authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications which have attracted over 3,500 citations with an h-index of 32. I am an executive member of SESLHD HREC, a team member of the Innovation and Industry Platform of SPHERE (Maridulu Budyari Gumal), a founding member and St George local lead for the Early-/Mid-Career Professional, Clinical and Academic Researchers Network (EPMCAR). I hold BA and MBBS degrees from China and a PhD from UNSW Sydney.
