Ke Li

Dr. Li's research program focuses on two main areas: advancing CT and cone-beam CT (CBCT) imaging technologies, and translating these innovations into clinical practice for improved cancer diagnosis and treatment. The Li research group has significantly contributed to the clinical adoption of model-based iterative reconstruction in CT, achieving reductions in patient radiation exposure while maintaining essential image quality. Dr. Li is also at the forefront of developing spectral photon counting detector (PCD) CBCT systems and exploring their potential applications in image-guided interventional procedures and proton therapy for cancer. Students in Dr. Li's group receive extensive training in CT and CBCT hardware instrumentation, system calibration, artifact correction, PCD physics and modeling, task-based medical image quality evaluation and optimization.
