Jade Lindley

Dr Jade Lindley is an Associate Professor and Director of Criminology at The University of Western Australia (UWA) Law School and is a Member of the UWA Oceans Institute. She is an expert in transnational organized crime and its nexus with international law. Jade teaches and has published extensively in this space, particularly as it relates to maritime and environmental crimes including illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, often linked to small island developing states. Dr. Jade Lindley joined the UWA Law School in 2016 having previously worked in research within state and federal government including the Corruption and Crime Commission and the Australian Institute of Criminology. Jade periodically consults to various bodies of the United Nations and presented at the twenty-fifth session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Vienna in 2016. Jade was awarded her PhD from the Australian National University, and was a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge Institute of Criminology. Jade is an alumni of the prestigious United States Department of State International Visitors Leadership Program, invited to participate in the first Indian Ocean themed Program, 'Strategic and Economic Priorities of the Indian Ocean', held in October 2017. Since 2021, Jade has been a member among the 'Network of Experts' within the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime https://globalinitiative.net/profile/dr-jade-lindley/ Jade is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Criminology (ANZSOC) and has previously served as the Western Australian Committee Member.
