Research interests

We are a radiobiology laboratory interested in DNA repair research. Our goal is to develop strategies to sensitize tumors to radiation using DNA repair defects to induce direct radiosensitization or to enhance immunostimulation. We study the role of base excision repair, homologous recombination and non-homologous end-joining in the repair of DNA damage caused by different types of radiation including photons, protons and C-ions. Examples of tutorial projects in my lab include: Identifying biomarkers in pancreatic cancer based on DNA repair defects; BRCA1 mutation combined with proton therapy to enhance the immune response; The role of base excision repair on the response to particle therapy beam.
