Research interests
I am a scholar of culture and politics in Latin America. My research specialises in the intersection between visual culture and activist politics in the region. I publish on a range of artistic forms and their relation to politics and activism, including photography, film, theatre, art and other forms of visual and material cultures.
My present research investigates cultural and activist responses to environmental concerns in Latin America. I am currently collaborating with the ERC-funded project PeatSense as Senior Researcher and Ethics Leads. PeatSense is led by Prof Naomi Millner (School of Geographical Sciences, University of Bristol). Focusing on the Patagonia region (Chile and Argentina), I research artistic and cultural representations of peatlands as well as the politics of environmental activism and its cultural production.
