Research interests
I am an international and comparative environmental law specialist with particular diverse interests in wildlife law and marine governance. Much of my research explores Indo-Pacific maritime issues: marine environmental law, including marine protected area law and policy, migratory and invasive species, and marine pollution, as well as maritime history and heritage. More recent work extends this work to terrestrial wildlife and spaces. My current projects include (1) law and the triple planetary crisis; (2) insects and the law (farming, food, health, conservation, restoration, pesticides, biofuels, forensic entomology, weapons, animal welfare, rights, cultural values); and (3) the SDGs and responsible consumption and production, and the blue economy and degrowth
