Eason's research focuses on hydrogen energy, advanced metallurgy, nuclear energy, and materials characterisation via advanced microscopy techniques. He specialises in using atom probe tomography (APT) and electron microscopes to develop the structure-property-processing relationships of materials, particularly by developing advanced workflows to facilitate microscopic observations under extreme conditions, including high or fast loading, corrosive, reactive, and/or irradiated environments, and low or high temperatures. The insights gained from these endeavours will contribute to a deeper understanding of material behaviour, paving the way for the development of next-generation high-performance materials.
