Delia Rambaldini-Gooding

I am a Social Policy academic in the School of Health and Society. My research is designed to address marginalisation, disadvantage and exclusion. Specifically, my research focuses on improving policy and social and health services for marginalised groups, especially CALD groups, refugees, asylum seekers and undocumented migrants, disadvantaged young people and older people. I have a history of productive relationships with 3rd sector organisations both in Australian and internationally. My expertise is in inclusive, qualitative research methods, including participatory action research (PAR) which aim to bring vulnerable groups in as researchers to affect real change. I am interested in how we can reimagine policy and service provision that is inclusive of service users and service providers. For example; I am currently working with a local community-based organisation, Southern Youth and Family Services with Associate Professor Lynne Keevers using PAR methodology to investigate practices that are effective in assisting young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The research will inform policy and practice in working with young people experiencing disadvantage.
