Amir Arjomandi

Associate Professor Amir Arjomandi is Co-Director of the Centre for Contemporary Australasian Business and Economics Studies (CCABES) at the University of Wollongong. His research in applied economics focuses on efficiency and performance analysis, with commissioned projects for peak business organisations and government departments delivering high-impact evaluations of workforce performance, wellbeing, and policy effectiveness. His work has appeared in leading journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Transportation Research (Parts A and E), and the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money. He has secured regional and national funding for both teaching and research, and his research has been cited by the Australian Parliament, industry stakeholders, and media. Dr Arjomandi has contributed to UOW's research culture and impact agenda through a range of leadership and service roles, including as School Research Co-Leader and Head of Postgraduate Studies, and through leading University-wide research programs. He is a recipient of the Faculty's Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning (OCTAL) Award, recognising his impact on pedagogy and student achievement.
