understanding how the mind and brain learn across time and development; cognitive processes that support learning and memory; tracking learning and memory processes across time; how subtle shifts in attention, decision-making, arousal or reward shape what we learn; why learning often looks different in children compared to adults; how the slow development of cognitive processes like attention and decision-making drive developmental differences in learning; brain plasticity especially during development; how the brain and cognition adapt to various factors like the early environment we grow up in; neuroimaging (e.g., fMRI), behavioral, eye-tracking, and pupillometry data
