Alberto Franco

I am interested in examining how cognition and behaviour affect, or are affected by, designed decision-supported processes and tools. My research has both a descriptive and a prescriptive orientation, is conducted in the lab or field, and draws on a range of theoretical perspectives (particularly from cognitive and social psychology, but also from sociology). I also have a long standing interest in the empirical study of the effectiveness of interventions designed and deployed to improve decision-making processes in cross-functional and multi-organisational teams, both in operational and strategic contexts. More recently, I have become interested in studying the role and impact of AI in supporting multidisciplinary team decision making, particularly in a healthcare context.
